Fermín Vázquez has been at the helm of b720 Arquitectos since its foundation in 1997, jointly with Ana Bassat.
He is responsible for some of Spain’s most iconic architectural projects built in the last twenty years. His work has received numerous international awards and has been the subject of international publications and exhibitions in venues such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris and MoMA in New York.
He has been the trusted local partner for some of the world’s leading architects for their unique projects in Spain.
Fermín Vázquez combines his professional practice with teaching. He has taught at the Barcelona School of Architecture, the School of Architecture and Landscape of Bordeaux and the European University of Madrid.
He has also given courses and lectures at various universities and other institutions around the world.
He currently teaches at the IE School of Architecture in Madrid. He regularly publishes articles in international architectural journals and publications.
b720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos, since inception, has been located in Spain’s two major cities of Madrid and Barcelona. It has been significantly involved in the development of both cities’ transforming architectural landscapes, with iconic projects such as the Agbar Tower and the Encants Market in Barcelona and the La Matriz Campus and VP Hotel in Plaza España in Madrid.
