The new Ernest Lluch Hospital is an horizontal building with a rectangular ground floor,4 floors and a basement floor. The building is composed of a volume with a large two-story plinth and sequential courtyards on which the hospitalization units are located, which rotate to face the sun and the views of the Collserola mountain range. Natural light predominates throughout the complex thanks to the presence of four courtyards.
The functional uses of ambulatory type are resolved within the plinth volume that opens to the north orientation, as an extension of the Can Massot park. The main entrance is also located on this side. The basement floor houses the support services, while the ground and second floors house the diagnostic services and the outpatient area. Finally, the proposal includes two specific areas for future expansion. On the one hand, an exclusive subway parking is proposed for the health area, and on the other hand, to the east of the plot, the spaces for the growth of the outpatient and hospitalization areas are located.
