Towards a permeable city.
The new high-speed intermodal station of Barcelona.
Barcelona’s historic demand for a new intermodal station in La Sagrera, bringing together high-speed trains, suburban trains, metro and buses at a single point, has taken shape in b720’s winning proposal in the public ideas competition organized by BSAV and Adif.
A skilful combination of the continuity of the large Camí Comtal park, the transversal urban permeability through its roof-park and the layout of a new centrality marked by a new bioclimatic wooden pergola that singles out the access to an underground intermodal patio characterize an intervention whose objectives transcend design to lead the sustainable development and mobility strategy of Barcelona of the future.
