On 9 June, the panel discussion “The Potential of What Already Exists: Investment, City and Reuse” took place, organised by ULI Spain (Urban Land Institute) with the support of b720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos, in the context of Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture.
Moderated by Francisco Pérez Medina of Culmia, the discussion featured Fermín Vázquez, our founding partner, Enric Batlle of batlleiroig, Paco Hugas of Conren Tramway, and Howard Pierce of Urban Input.
The conversation explored the challenges and opportunities facing cities today, focusing on how to promote more adaptable and sustainable urban models capable of responding to society’s evolving needs. The debate also highlighted the importance of collaboration among the various stakeholders involved and the need for more flexible frameworks to facilitate the transformation and improvement of the built environment.
