The project for the future Ecobarrio in the old Sant Joan golf course was presented at the Sant Cugat Town Hall on Tuesday 18th of February.
The Town Council is planning a new district on the Turó de Can Camps with 3,000 homes on public land to meet the demand for housing in Sant Cugat. The plan envisions the construction of 2,000 subsidized housing units for rent and 1,000 for affordable use. The homes will be built according to strict sustainability criteria and innovative construction systems that will reduce costs.
The design of the Ecodistrict 2030 has been entrusted to the architectural studios b720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos and Batlleiroig.
