The project has a privileged location on the seafront of Sant Adrià del Besòs, with dominant views over the port and close connection to the Ronda Litoral and Av. Diagonal.
This area is undergoing a large scale transformation with facilities such as the Forum, the Congress Centre and the Port, and others in full development such as the new Diagonal-Besòs Campus, which attracts a large number of users every year.
The plot has a good sun orientation favouring the disposition of the rooms. The 200-metre façade, overlooking the promenade, situates the hotel in a place of constant activity and transit.
3 main objectives are set to enhance user’s experience: sea views available from all the rooms; maximum sunlight for private terraces and common areas; maximum privacy inside the rooms.
The project arises from the combination of 2 strategies: to orient and protect, by orienting all the rooms towards the sea and building a volume close to the street to buffer traffic noise; to densify, by building north-south oriented volumes with a central corridor for greater efficiency of the program.
Three main exterior patios are generated with differentiated identities and uses, which at the same time enhance the views from all the rooms. These courtyards allow to reduce the scale of the building as perceived by the user, dividing the hotel into 3 wings. Two interior courtyards are also generated in connection to the access cores enhancing the cross ventilation and natural lighting on the floors where the rooms are situated.
