While construction is proceeding apace, the bidding process for the third package of works on Hall Zero at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Vía has been completed and last week the developer Fira 2000 awarded the contract to the FCC & COMSA joint venture.
Construction of this last phase will begin in June. The new facility, with a total surface area of 135,000 m2 that includes the pavilion with exhibition halls and congress center, a 12-story office building and a central bridge that will connect it to the current fairgrounds, will be operational in 2027.
The new Hall Zero pavilion is a project by b720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos and Toyo Ito & Associates, Architects.
