We are proud to share that our proposal “Chamartín, Ecosistema Abierto”, together with Esteyco and UNStudio, has been shortlisted as the winner of the international competition for the remodeling of the Madrid-Chamartín Clara Campoamor railway station, organized by Adif-Alta Velocidad.
The proposal was developed with the aim of respecting the station’s history, while looking towards its future as an open, sustainable, accessible and safe communication node, committed to culture and society.
The project is defined by three architectural elements that work together to create the optimal conditions for the development of the various activities that will take place at Chamartín station: the terraces, the vaults and the high-rise buildings. A recognizable silhouette, the new design respects the existing station and increases its urban presence.
Our proposal has obtained the maximum score by the jury of the competition, among 9 proposals from teams of recognized and distinguished national and international architecture firms and studios, such as Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), Zaha Hadid Architects, Foster + Partners, Grimshaw Architects, Luis Vidal + Architects and ARUP.
Our collaboration with Esteyco and UNStudio was the most important driver of this process. We thank all the agents who were involved in this great and important project and we are encouraged to move forward, towards the future of Chamartín station.
